It is a sovereign entity under international law, just as the Vatican is.
In the Sahara Desert, there is a town named Tidikelt, which did not receive a drop of rain for ten years. Technically though, the driest place on Earth is in the valleys of the Antarctic near Ross Island. There has been no rainfall there for two million years.

ReplyDeleteBrazilians nuts are not even called that in there. They are called Castanha do Para, portuguese for Para's Nut, which is a Brazilian state.
The name came from Pau-Brasil, which was a tree from where the first portuguese colonizers would extract red paint. The tree was named Brasil due its color which resembles a burning coal, "brasa" in portuguese.
I doubt Antarctica's humidity level is going to stay that low for much longer. With global warming now very much a reality, you'd probably soon need to get a dehumidifier for sale just to live there.
